GFL Soccer is facilitating the DFB-UEFA B and C License Courses this summer in Berlin, Germany in cooperation with the Berliner Fussball Verband. Both courses accept only 22 participants and the B license course is full but there is still limited space left in the German Football Association — Deutscher Fußball-Bund (DFB) “C” soccer coaching course.
Founded in 1900, the DFB is the governing body of football in German and is one of the most prestigious and highly acclaimed soccer organizations in the world. A sense of pride can be easily seen on Die Mannschaft’s Twitter which represents the Germany National Football team. The DFB-UEFA Fussball Lehrer, A, Elite Jugend (youth), B, and C licenses and Team Leiter represent the pyramid of the German DFB coaching qualifications.
These DFB-UEFA Coaching Courses are organized in the USA by Eddie Loewen and Arnie Friedrich who are the founders of GFL Soccer. Loewen and Friedrich presented two sessions on Leadership in Coaching at the 2019 United Soccer Coaches Convention. One session, How to Recognize and Develop Leaders on your Team focused on the importance of developing the next generation of leaders and Effective and Impactful Leadership in Coaching discussed the collective and individual impact coaches have over millions of players.
Loewen has a UEFA A license and USSF B and Arne Friedrich holds a UEFA A license. Both understand the value of coaching education and their sessions were packed with coaches eager to learn and looking for information on how the World Cup winning nation develops youth players.
In the sessions, Friedrich, who played in the top tier of the Bundesliga and on the German National team shared stories of the 2006 and 2010 World Cup when he played under Juergen Klinsmann and later under Joegi Loew.
“A lot of a coach’s success is influenced by his education, training and his relationships,” said Eddie Loewen. “Education is one the greatest investments we as humans can make and holding a DFB-UEFA C License not only provides a huge step ahead in our career as a coach but opens your mind to a whole new way of thinking. Being immersed in Germany while taking a coaching course is a life experience well worth the time and money.”
